The Hayward W3DE4820 Pro-Grid 48 sq. ft. D.E. Pool Filter delivers top-tier filtration, capable of removing particles as small as 5 microns, the size of a red blood cell.Ā It uses 7 full and 1 partial 24" grids coated in pool-grade diatomaceous earth, housed in a durable glass-reinforced thermoplastic tank. A manual air relief valve prevents air buildup in the tank.
The filter features a 1-1/2" drain for fast drainage and a one-piece flange clamp for secure assembly. It requires 58.1" of vertical clearance for removal, and backwashing is recommended before disassembly.
